Chloe was never meant to be tied down. Her mind is far too curious, and her legs love to run further than what the length of a short chain can offer. This was what her life was like before a neighbor called the local humane society, and Chloe was removed from her abusive situation. Her next few weeks were spent confined to the four walls of a cage. Unlike many dogs in America, Chloe was lucky enough to be adopted. She completed our family in September of 2009. We knew the moment we saw her we could offer a forever home and she would be the perfect companion for our other dog, Dante.
But many dogs do not get this chance. I realize I cannot adopt every dog like Chloe, but I can do something else.
I can use my camera to be an advocate for homeless dogs. By photographing adoptable dogs at local adoption agencies, I hope to allow a person the opportunity to meet the eyes of what will become their newest family member.
